This is a rebrand concept for Who Gives A SCRAP - a donation-based scrap store that offers arts & crafts classes, studio space for local artists, and volunteer opportunities. Because they rely on donations, they provide environmentally friendly craft solutions.
Sketches:
These are a few examples of the style I want to use in my graphic elements. The WGAS store has sections for sewing, needlework, painting, scrapbooking, jewelry making, and other hobbies. I will use icons for wayfinding, patterns for different categories, and photos to feature the staff and store to create a welcoming interface.
Logo:
The original logo from the Who Gives A Scrap Instagram page is a purple dot with the full title in multiple colors. My redesign features a scissors icon cutting ribbon. This imagery communicates action, as this organization actively engages with the Colorado Springs community.
Logo Drafts:
I sketched and drafted different crafts and trades to represent the heart of WGAS. Each concept would need branding motifs to match it, and scissors accompany an array of crafts and hobbies.
Typography:
Century Gothic is the web-friendly grotesque sister to Century Schoolbook, a font associated with books and learning.
Color:
Inspiration, creativity, free expression, and eclectic style get along well with these fruity and psychedelic hues.
