The object of this student zine is to guide buyers (employers, aspiring interior designers, and chair enthusiasts) to make informed decisions regarding adding chairs to a space.
For this project, I researched different types of chairs and analyzed how they should be presented in a booklet. I categorized chairs by function: Dining, Lounge, and Outdoor. The zine briefly covers key attributes, including the effectiveness of design, how materials differ, and the significance of ergonomic seating on overall health.
I included a variety of beautiful chairs for different types of rooms and tasks in my sketches to draw readers into the material. I originally sketched an sculpted octopus chair on the cover but ultimately chose the modern hammock chair to emphasize the elegance of simplicity in furniture design.
The chairs we sit on are designed to facilitate the tasks we carry out in day-to-day life. Why not invest in your comfort and well-being to do them well? This editorial addresses the consumer's sense of style, ergonomic needs, and task-functionality of different kinds of chairs. While a mediocre chair can appear to be good enough, a poorly designed chair can increase stress and pain, but an appropriately designed chair can improve the user's well-being.
